Individual Therapy: Reclaiming Connection with Yourself
Online in New York, New Jersey, and Connecticut
For the anxious, the avoidant, the overthinkers, the “I’ll-handle-it-myself” types.
You’ve learned to hold it all together — for everyone else. But maybe that armor’s getting heavy.
At Attached NY, individual therapy isn’t about fixing you; it’s about helping you understand you — how your history, your wiring, and your coping strategies collide in the present.
We focus on the attachment patterns, relational dynamics, and parts of you that once kept you safe but now keep you stuck.
How We Work
We blend Attachment Theory, Relational Life Therapy (RLT) by Terry Real, and Parts Work to create a space that’s safe, honest, and sometimes (intentionally) a little sarcastic.
Therapy with us means:
Attachment-based exploration: Mapping how early experiences shape your relationships, communication, and emotional regulation.
RLT interventions: Owning your patterns without shame — seeing both the adaptive and self-defeating moves you make in relationships.
Parts work integration: Meeting the internal “crew” that runs the show — protector, critic, overachiever, caretaker — and helping them chill out, not disappear.
We’re trauma-informed, culturally responsive, queer-affirming, and neurodivergent-proud.
Our Approach in a Nutshell
We believe:
You can’t heal in isolation.
Humor belongs in healing.
Accountability and compassion can co-exist.
Growth is about agency, not perfection.
We’ll look at what’s been working, what used to work, and what’s blocking you now — and use that awareness to build change from the inside out.
What We Explore Together
Complex trauma (CPTSD) and attachment injuries
Religious trauma and deconstruction
Relationship stress and burnout
People-pleasing, over-responsibility, or emotional numbing
Self-discovery, identity, and boundaries
Reconnecting to your body through somatic awareness
We don’t chase a “perfectly self-actualized” version of you — that’s not real.
Instead, we help you build the capacity to own your flaws, hold compassion for yourself, and feel grounded in who you are right now.
